vivo announces the vivo X100 Pro flagship

vivo continues to redefine mobile imaging with the launch of the vivo X100 Pro. Delivering professional photography capabilities and excellent performance, vivo's new device brings significant upgrades to the vivo ZEISS co-engineered Imaging System. It introduces the ZEISS APO Floating Telephoto Camera, a ZEISS 1-inch Main Camera, and supports 4K Cinematic Portrait Video. The vivo X100 Pro combines the Dimensity 9300 processor with vivo's customized V3 imaging chip and an enhanced battery capacity.
Building on the X series' reputation for premium-level camera features
The new vivo X100 Pro introduces further camera innovations developed in collaboration with ZEISS that seamlessly bring together hardware and software to accurately capture high quality photography in all scenarios – specifically targeting challenges in long-range and close-focus shooting. The vivo ZEISS co-engineered Imaging System features a 50MP ZEISS APO Floating Telephoto Camera, the ZEISS 1-inch Main Camera, and a 50MP Super Wide-Angle Camera.
The ZEISS APO Floating Telephoto Camera comes with new Vario-Apo-Sonnar standards from ZEISS for high quality close-up and long-distance shots. It also adopts a Floating Elements Design, which sets a new benchmark with an unprecedented f/2.5 aperture to ensure high image quality in various scenarios, even from 6X to 10X. The Floating Elements Design also enables stable close-up shots. Optical Precision Calibration ensures that the X100 Pro main camera delivers consistent image sharpness and quality, while its image stabilization capabilities offer clear, shake-free results more typical of professional DSLR cameras.
The X100 Pro is the first mobile imaging system in the world to achieve ZEISS' APO certification - the optical expert's rigorous standard for lenses where colour defects such as chromatic aberration and colour fringing on high contrast areas are corrected as much as possible for premium-level clarity. The X100 Pro features certified ZEISS T* Coating, an advanced anti-reflective coating technology that significantly increases light transmittance and helps accurately reproduce colours while reducing light reflection and minimizing flare. This ensures that users can capture clear images even in complex light conditions.
Thanks to the upgraded vivo Imaging Engine, even capturing the beauty of challenging sunrise and sunset lighting conditions is made easier. The new engine brings upgrades to image quality, colour tone, and computing processes, and aids in sunset or sunrise photography by identifying specific red-sun scenarios to capture the scene accurately.
Professional-level photography: Improved portrait and night videography
The X100 Pro combines hardware and software to empower users to capture, create, and edit professional grade images and videos on the go. Its upgraded portrait and night shooting capabilities are complemented by an expanded range of signature ZEISS bokeh effects which replicate the classic, professional look of ZEISS pro lenses.
The customized vivo V3 Chip dedicated to imaging, uses a highly efficient 6nm design that delivers a 30% increase in energy efficiency while powering advanced portrait videography capabilities to the X100 Pro. This includes the all-new 4K Cinematic Portrait Video – an X series first – which is ideal for users seeking to capture and edit cinematic-feeling video content effortlessly on their smartphone. This creative feature provides a shallow depth-of-field with pleasingly background blur, automatically shifting focus and tracking the filmed subject for a professional, cinematic look. Users can even apply ZEISS Cinematic Video Bokeh style with the new 4K Cinematic Portrait Video feature for a timeless evocative feeling. It is also possible to easily edit 4K Cinematic Portrait videos later in the Album to fine-tune the bokeh effects and styles.
The X100 Pro makes professional-level photography possible on a smartphone with new possibilities for capturing portraits. An X series first, the new flagship introduces ZEISS Multifocal Professional Photography which lets users take professional portraits with focal lengths up to 100mm. Adding more creative options, the X100 Pro brings the ZEISS B-Speed Style Bokeh, the latest addition to the suite of ZEISS Style Portrait options. This creates a distinctive rounded-edge triangle bokeh effect inspired by a classic high-speed ZEISS cine lens from the mid-1970s.
Performance powerhouse
The X100 Pro comes with a Dual Flagship Chip featuring vivo's latest V3 custom imaging chip paired with the benchmark-setting Dimensity 9300 processor which boasts a flagship octa-core CPU for a massive leap in performance compared to its predecessor.
The X100 Pro successfully balances large capacity battery with fast charging through three key industry breakthroughs: Negative Electrode Graphite Reconstruction technology, Electrode Cold Press Technique, and Micrometer Laser Array Etching Process—ultimately reaching an 8.3% increase in overall energy density compared to previous generations. It is equipped with an equivalent 5,400mAh (TYP) large battery and supports wireless FlashCharge and up to 100W Dual-Cell FlashCharge.
The X100 Pro elevates the viewing experience with an LTPO Eye Protection Display and introduces Dual Engines for Video Enhancement. In addition, featuring a larger always-on display area, the display can reach a local peak brightness of up to 3,000 nits for great visibility even in bright sunlight.
The X100 Pro comes equipped with the latest Funtouch OS 14, which enhances the user experience with smoother performance, greater personalization, and improved security.
Premium design for quiet luxury and durability
The X100 Pro highlights the iconic X Series' sleek, stylish, and lightweight design aesthetic. A signature design element is the moon-inspired halo ring around the camera module made of aerospace-grade stainless steel. The choice of premium materials ensures durability – the X100 Pro is wear-resistant, high-temperature resistant, and corrosion-resistant. For additional peace of mind, it is IP68 rated for water and dust resistance. The X100 Pro comes in an Asteroid Black color.
